Tambascio's Italian Grill is a family-owned restaurant that has been serving up delicious Italian cuisine since we opened our doors. Our journey began with a passion for sharing traditional flavors and recipes passed down through generations...



Named for its owner, John Tambascio, this cozy restaurant opened in October of 2007 in the building that previously was home to George's, an Italian eatery popular with area restaurant goers for over 20 years.

John Tambascio is an experienced restaurateur. In 1986, he, his mother, Louise, and brother, Mark, launched My Place restaurant in what used to be Newtown's post office. Later, he and his mother opened DiPalma's New York Pizza in Southbury.



The menu features an extensive selection of traditional Italian classics such as Lasagna, Chicken Parmigiana and Veal Marsala along with inventive contemporary appetizers, salads, fresh pastas, fish, chicken and meats.

Pizza lovers will not be disappointed with the New York-style thin crust pizza hand-tossed and baked directly on top of a stone hearth or our Calzone stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheese.



The look and feel of Tambascio's is warm and inviting as well as friendly and casual; like a true trattoria in Italy.
